>> LYRIC ANALYSIS > MISERABLE
'Misérable' is Gackt's very first single as a solo artist. Accompanied by a beautiful violin solo at the beginning,
it's truely a masterpiece on his part. 'Les Misérable' is actual a Broadway play. What is it about? I have no
clue whatsoever. Never saw it. When looking up 'les misérables', I came up w/ 'Poor Wrentches' and..'The
Miserable'. Eh. Um..Anyway, here we go!
I pretended not to notice
And stared far out the small window
The angel’s voice spreading in the sky
Was embraced by the wind
Notice? Notice what? How can the wind embrace a voice? Why is the angel signing?
Shut up, he just started!
The commotion reflected in your eyes can’t hear anything
Only now I murmured "It was a trick from when I was naďve"
Into the sky
Hrm..he seems to be reflecting on something bad that happened. Perhaps a lost lover? An ex-friend?
Maybe he ran out of Pocky...
Turn, turn... Inside of the time that left me behind I am, now,
les misérables
You who I loved too much are on the other side of the wall
Softly smiling
Ah! And so it seems, a lover who broke his heart. Oh, the tale of sadness weaving. And the use of 'Les
Misérables' heightens the effect, who doesn't know of those words?
Les? Les is miserable? We should try and cheer her up!
.oO(Don't shoot her, don't shoot..)
Only this feeling that cannot be fulfilled... it’s filled into sighs
While blasted by the cold wind
I relived my memories in the returning night
The melody I softly sing to myself
Is carved away by time until it vanishes
I can’t forget the sadness that I cannot return to
Even now, my body that cannot taint the flickering emotions
Seems to break down
Ah, he tries to forget of the sadness, but his heart won't let him? The agony! *wipes tear*
He needs a HUG!
.oO(...............................)
Where can I go to make my loneliness vanish
"I always have tomorrow..."
Turn, turn... Inside of the time that left me behind I am, now,
les misérables
You who I loved too much are on the other side of the wall
Softly smiling
Deeply, deeply falling inside of the dream that I only started to forget I am, now,
les misérables
You who I loved too much are on the other side of the wall
Softly smiling
Only this feeling that cannot be fulfilled... it’s filled into sighs
In the end, I believe this song is about heartache: of a lover who decided to leave.
Poor Les. Will she ever not be miserable? This is a real cliffhanger, I can't wait til the next episode!!
