>> LYRIC ANALYSIS > DOOMSDAY

Let's be serious folks. This song is a great song. My interpretation is without reading the intoduction made by Mina P. After reading THAT, it pretty much turned into McVarmazi's. We've only included our interpretation here.

The pretty moon is smiling
In the quiet night, it's laughing
Once more, I murmured
Your name...

Above the scattered glass
A cold wind is dancing
I await your return
Before falling into sleep...

My shouting voice resounds
And I embrace your unforgivable sins
I think this song is about a man..or a woman..who is unfaithful. When reading the "I await your return before falling into sleep" part, it's like they're waiting for their lover to return, but they're not. And shouting..maybe they're fighting. They've confronted eachother of it.

I saw your dream
The dream you can't awaken from
While leaning against the windowsill
And being softly embraced by the moon

Your shouting voice stops
And my unforgivable crime continues
Your heart, your arms, your voice... everything
Until we love each other, until it drives us mad, I hold you who I love too much
I destroyed over and over again...

Does it reach you now?
His kind voice
Can you see it?
Your arm, dyed red...
Here is where I thought it was the POV of a man. I think he's seeing her, unfaithful, and he kills her. "Does it reach you now? His kind voice" is like him asking her if..he was worth it? "Your arm, dyed red.." he's killing her, his 'unforgivable crime'

While shaking, the last sound is erased
While weeping for our unforgivable sins
Ephemeral dreams, sorrowful dreams, painful dreams annouce the end
Into gentle dreams, beloved dreams, like that day, like that time...
He's crying for killing her. She's crying because..well, she's being killed. And I think he's trying to, instead of thinking about her sleeping with another, he's thinking of when they were together (together together) and happy, his beloved dreams, like the old day and time. But, after reading the part where Mina says it's sung from a woman's POV..well, I guess my interpretation could be like that. I..guess. Damn Gackt. You are too much of a genious.
